Stat Pack: 2024 Xfinity Series Credit One 300 Preview
Another intermediate track. Back to the well with the 1.5 mile aces.
@ Homestead-Miami Speedway (1.5 mi)
Entry list notes: William Sawalich in the Joe Gibbs #19, Ryan Truex Jr. in the Sam Hunt #26.
Picks
For a deeper look at intermediate tracks, of which Homestead is one, see last week's Las Vegas preview:
As the above suggests, there are a lot of drivers who can win here. But my favorites were those who had the best average running position on intermediates this year:
The best runners (by weighted average running position) on the mile-and-a-halfs this year have been [Justin] Allgaier, Cole Custer, Chandler Smith, and Austin Hill.
Neither of the entry list noted above should be spooking the field in this race. This is Sawalich's Xfinity debut. It's his NASCAR intermediate track debut, having not run one in the trucks. That's a lot to overcome on a track type with a lot of parity. Truex has one intermediate track this year: a seventh-place finish at Texas. His track record is not strong. In five intermediate races with JGR since 2022, he has two top tens.
