Kyle Larson dominated the Bristol Night Race, with an average running position of 1.06 (and a wARP, which weights ARP by lateness and thus importance [at least theoretically] of lap, of 1.01). After taking the lead for lap 33, he never relinquished it. Pole-sitter Alex Bowman slowly drifted back as far as tenth and finished ninth. The best gainer on the day was the newly-extended Bubba Wallace, moving from 11th to third, with a race-best GR-LR of 2.85.
This was Larson's fifth win of the year. Denny Hamlin's third-place finish locked him into the second round of the playoffs. Martin Truex Jr. was eliminated from the playoffs in his final season. Narrowly eliminated was sophomore driver Ty Gibbs.
