Great race. Parker Kligerman was about two feet from taking the white flag before a yellow was thrown. He had been fending off Sam Mayer, who had fresher tires. That debt came due, and Kligerman ended up fourth, with Mayer taking the win. Kligerman's fellow Lap Raptor pick Shane Van Gisbergen ended up third by similar circumstances.
Both Kligerman and Van Gisbergen showed their road course chops in this race. They were able to steal good finishes with disadvantaged cars. Kligerman remains the only driver in the Xfinity series with a perfect success rate. SVG has the best average running position. He and Kligerman are first and second in average finish.
This was a much-needed win for Mayer, his third of the year. He's been unable to convert good running positions into finishes this year, and more broadly in his career. His 60% success rate and 1.219 PFAE since last year on skill tracks (non-drafting ovals and road courses) are fine for an Xfinity playoff bubble driver, but insufficient for a driver with higher aspirations. It's unclear how many of his seven wins over the period are his car's rather than his. As he enters his age 21 season in 2025 with Haas Factory Team, he should focus on converting runs into finishes: he has wins but is missing the good points days that good drivers rack up.
