Sammy Smith won his first race of the season. The final lap, in overtime, was only his fifth scored in first place, though he spent most of the second half of the race out front.
This year with JR Motorsports, Smith has had good underlying numbers on super speedways: he's finished all six of his races and only been scored as involved in one caution. The win is his third top-ten finish on a super speedway this season. However, he hasn't had the results until lately:
